Homemade Onion Bhaji with Tahini Vegan Mayo

This week David shares his fantastic homemade Onion Bhaji with Tahini Vegan Mayo recipe!

How to make the Tahini Vegan Mayo


220g vegetable oil / peanut oil

120ml soy milk

2 x teaspoons lemon juice

Sea salt

1 x tablespoon tahini (optional)

Add all the ingredients into a mixing bowl. Blend or liquidize for 2 minutes. Add more oil to make a thicker mayonnaise if required.


Onion Bhaji Recipe


2 x sliced onions

150g flour

1 x teaspoons cumin

1 x teaspoons of tumeric

½ teaspoon baking powder

2 x teaspoons lemon juice

2 x tablespoon chopped coriander

Salt & Pepper

4/5 tablespoons water

Mix all the ingredients together to form a thick batter (a little more water may be required).

Add the sliced onions and mix well.

Heat oil in a pan or fryer, and then add a spoonful of the Bhaji mixture. Deep fry for 2 – 3 minutes or until cooked.

Serve on a fresh tortilla wrap with the tahini mayo, a freshly prepared side salad and kettle chips. Enjoy! : )
