It’s April and the soil is warming as the garden springs to life….
Spring has definitely arrived. The sight of Forsythia with its unmistakable yellow flowers is a triumph to kick off the season. Magnolias and flowering cherries explode with show stopping flowers to bring beauty and elegance to the Spring garden.
It’s a great time to brush off the garden tools and get planting. We have a superb choice of both evergreen and deciduous shrubs in store. You will find everything you need in our A-Z collection as well as all the popular seasonal varieties to bring a splash of spring colour to your outdoor space.
Pentland Plants see the first flush of flowers on our homegrown Senetti. Pinks, purples and exotic blues create a seasonal display of flowers to brighten pots and containers on your patio. Trim them back and feed after blooming for a second flush of flowers. Ranunculus has become a spring favourite as well with their delicate paper tissue like petals and their gorgeous range of colours. Keep dead heading to extend the flowering period.
Get on top of weeds early in the season, this will prevent them seeding and becoming a problem. Deep rooted weeds may be very difficult to control and perennial weeds such as dandelionsneed to be completely removed including the root.
The ground is warm enough to plant out our extensive collection of ‘Home Grown’ herbaceous perennials. There is a plant for every aspect and situation in your garden. If you need help choosing, our expert staff are always on hand to guide and advise you.
